Essence Magazine rolled out the red carpet for their Third Annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon that took place yesterday from 12pm-3pm at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. Cicely Tyson, Queen Latifah and Gabby Sidibe were all honored. I think the color of the day was off white and the ladies looked wonderful. The Oscar’s are on tap for Sunday, March 7, 2010 on ABC. Enjoy!!!
p.s. Weekend Fun will resume next Friday.
Dove Men + Care for HIM
Happy Thursday!!! And if it’s Thursday, then you must know it’s all about HIM at India’s World. Dove has just launched a range of products specifically for men. It is comprised of 3 body/face washes, 2 bar soaps and one shower tool that are clinically proven to fight skin dryness. Being a slight product junky myself, this is just great (There is nothing like a fresh and clean smelling man). The products come in 3 fragrances: clean comfort, deep clean, and extra fresh. The price point is between $3.89 and $8.69 and is available at Target and other fine retail locations. For more information check: www.dovemencare.com and www.target.com. Enjoy!!!
Erykah Badu on Jimmy Fallon
I don’t know how I missed one of my faves last night on Jimmy Fallon. Erykah Badu performed her new single “Window Seat” and she was backed by Jimmy Fallon’s resident band, The Roots. Window Seat is from her upcoming release New Amerykah Part 2 - The Return of the Ankh. It will drop March 30, 2010. And you know I’m going to be the first one in Target that day (that’s if I don’t get a promo copy). I can’t wait! For more information on Erykah Badu, visit: www.erykah-badu.com. Enjoy!!!!

Happy Hump Day! Time flies when you’re having so much fun. Trust and believe, it flies if you’re not having fun too. I’m having fun, what about you? The NAACP Image Awards happened February 26, 2010 and these are some looks that I liked. I believe the show aired on 2/26 as well and I totally missed it. Another shout out to Mo’Nique and the entire cast and crew of Precious. I hope they take the Oscars by storm. Enjoy!!
Mo’Nique is Spreading The Love
Mo’Nique has to be one of the hardest working women anywhere today. She’s making it happen as an Oscar Nominated Actress (yes!), Night Time Talk Show Hostess (a little loud but, she’s killing it), a WORKING MOM (yes all caps), and a WIFE (yes, baby!). And wait, she’s also hitting the road for the next two months with her Spread The Love Tour. She’s also bringing her counterpart from her BET night time talk show, Comedian, Rodney Perry and Comedian, Tone X. I’m wishing Mo’Nique the best of luck in grabbing that Oscar this Sunday. And guess what, I’m gone have to check her out when she hits The Lou on March 26 (at The Fabulous Fox). That’s like a week after Jay Z tears down The Scottrade Center. All I can say is that March is shaping up nicely. Price point in The Lou is $39.00 and $59.00 (not bad at all). Ticketes are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com, www.aeglive.com, and www.fabulousfox.com (also at the perspective venues). Check below for dates in your area. Enjoy!
p.s. we will be chopping up the Oscars most probably from the red carpet. Follow me on Twitter @indiasworld and on myspace at www.facebook.com/indiahearn.

Volante Zinfandel

Hello Everyone. It’s been so long! There’s no way that you guys could ever miss me as much as I miss you (real talk). So, I’m pulling everything together. You know, there’s something to say when you are walking the thin line of entrepreneurship and mapping your life out. Things are back to normal and I gotta really get on the stick. I have lots of stuff to share so, I will be posting as much as I can.
Anywho, as many of you know, I’m a bit of a wine snob ;-). I came across Volante Zinfandel, while having lunch at an Indian spot called Rasoi in the CWE in St. Louis. They offer a $10 lunch buffet, a good wine list, and the food is delish. Volante is a Californian wine originating from the Russian River Valley Estates area in Napa. This wine is sooo yummy! It has hints of vanilla, coconut, black cherries, and plum. The wine is really full of flavor. Only 675 cases were produced of this Zinfandel, so it won’t be around forever. Volante Zinfandel by the glass runs around $10 (well worth it). I’m on the check to get it by the bottle and that should retail about $20. For more information check: www.volantevineyards.com and www.rosoi.com. Have a great week! Enjoy!!

Happy Monday and February 1st! It seems like forever that I’ve been around and I’m baaack!! I’m still suffering from tech problems at home but, nothing will keep me from doing what I love to do. I kicked it for my birthday and so did my son. It took me almost a week to recover. But now, that the holidays and January are over: It’s on!!
Did anybody tune in for the Grammys? I’ve loved awards shows since being a little girl. I think they used to be a lot more fun back in the day believe it or not. I think that music was more honest back then. Don’t get me wrong, I still catch most of them and participate in chopping them up with my friends on both Facebook and Twitter and we have big fun doing it. I try not to say anything that will hurt anyone’s feelings. There were quite a few misses last night. I chose some looks that I liked for the most part coupled with some of the most popular ladies in the business. Oh but you know #1 is like my fave singer, 4X Grammy Nominated (whaaat), Ledisi. And yes, she deserves a Grammy because not only is she real, but she can out sang most of them. Her latest cd, Turn Me Loose, really got me through 2009!!!!
Thanks for hanging in there with India’s World. Don’t worry, nothing has changed. I will continue to scour the world for the coolest things to see, do, and buy!!!! Love is Love
Enjoy the rest of the week!
Happy Birthday!!!

Oh my! First of all I miss you guys. This is a hectic week at India’s World. My birthday is Friday and my oldest son’s birthday is Saturday. So, I’m running around trying to pull together two gatherings of friends & family, and I’m suffering from technical difficulties at home :-(. My computer is down. Also, I’m changing host companies this week. Ya’ll gotta hang in there with your girl! I’m going to try to be back on track no later than Tuesday 1/26. Well like I said, it’s my birthday month! We have just entered into The Age of Aquarius. If ya’ll know any Aquarians personally, you know what that means: expect the unexpected (in a good and fun way of course). So again, bare with me. I’ll pull it together by next week. Have a good one!!! Enjoy!!!
