Hey my sweets. It’s been far far far too long.  Please forgive my absence. I’m going to have to ease back into the 5 day a week posts.  I’m still looking for writers as I type.  I am going to commit to doing a few posts a week.  My plate is overflowing at the moment. I’ve taken on a massive new duty as of late and I’m sharpening up some new selling tools and techniques.  The Lord knows I’m a working girl!  Just let me do what I love and it’s like I never stop working ;-).  I’m in the midst of finding some balance (per usual).

And there’s no place to inspire a crazy girl like me, like NYC.  One of my closest friends Robin Hereford and her husband, Darrius Hereford visited the city for the first time recently and I could feel the city’s energy through them the whole time they were there.  I made them a cute little “IndiasWorld’s Itinerary” of some of my favorite spots and they even picked up one of my all time favorites (Tillman’s) from my good friend Michael Clark.   They wore themselves out.

There ain’t no place like New York in the Summer.  Free concerts galore! And what piqued my interest is that The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin is performing FOR FREE at WINGATE PARK on August 9th.  And the entire series is sizzling hot (that’s right sizzling).  Wingate Park is in the hood (but don’t let that stop you).  It is always a peaceful fun filled evening.  The concerts are every Monday starting today at 7:30. Kicking off the series is George Clinton, Parliment/Funkadelic, and The Ohio Players and ends on August 23 with Sean Paul and The King of Calypso, Mighty Sparrow. The Maxwell PreSale has arrived!  Maxwell will hit the stage at Scottrade Center on October 9, 2009 in downtown St. Louis.  And he’s bringing Chrisette Michele (@epiphany girl) and Common.  Now this is going to be a nice show.  This show will be great for dates, a girls night out, or just because you’re cool like that.  The PreSale starts tomorrow, August 27 at 10am CDT thru August 28 at 10pm CDT and is happening through Live Nation (www.livenation.com) , the code is: SWING.  Tickets go on sale for the general public on Saturday, August 29.   Price point here is $20-$100. BET and Grey Goose will unveil it’s new weekly music showcase of today’s hottest and rising icons.  Chrisette Michelle will set it off tonight at 10:30pm EST.  In the following weeks you can see other rising stars, The Dream, Ryan Leslie, Keri Hilson, Kid Cudi, Melanie Fiona, Wale, and Hal Linton.  Each installment will allow you to get up close and personal with each artist.  I must say I’m looking forward to this–alright BET, something I can sit and watch for a change!!! Chrisette Michele will hit the stage at The Ambassador in The Lou on Saturday, July 11, 2009.  This is great news.  I was just whining how St. Louis does not get any free A concerts.  I was indeed sulking a bit because NYC gets free A concerts hands over fists every summer.  So much so, that I’m already thinking how I’m going to work it out for me and my boys to summer in NYC.  And when I say A concerts, I mean national artists that are current.  Anywho, as I understand it there will be opening acts, doors will open at 8pm and the show starts at 10pm.  Admission is free with a pair of new pajamas (to benefit local homeless shelters) or $10 without.  The Ambassador is located at 9800 Halls Ferry Road.  You can give a call for additional information at 314-869-9090.  Enjoy!!!
