TGIF!!! Yea, not only is it Friday, but this is THE weekend that kicks off the summer (forget what ya heard)! I know for many of you that Summer Fridays start today! For those of you in the publishing industry: it’s great for the folks on the agency side and what not! but things can get tricky, slow, and just plain quiet on the sales side. All, I can say is, you better enjoy!!! Lord knows that I will work an extra couple hours a day just to enjoy a little peace on Summer Friday afternoons!!!
I think one piece swimsuits are getting waay sexy! With the onset of Summer, I’m thinking, I’m getting a couple of suits this year. I don’t care how much I’m not ready (but, I’m working on it!!!). The suits above are all from www.bergdorfgoodman.com. They have the most adorable swimwear department! They are not cheap! But, trust, if you can make it happen, they got it for ya!!! The colors are bright and the prints are bold (as they should be for fun in the sun).
Here’s to making this Summer count!!! I’m so excited.
Enjoy!!!

SHE’VA Couture Tee’s

Happy Thursday all! Hope you guys are in the highest of spirit. I’m good this week trying to stay focused and on task (per usual). The weather has been pretty interesting in The Lou. It’s been everything from hot to chilly this week, and then we just had a pretty big storm. I’m sure all the rose bushes and plant life are in good shape for a good minute.
This Saturday, May 15, 2010, marks the kick off of She’Va Couture Tee’s. I’m looking forward to seeing this line up close and personal at the official launch party. The handmade and way creative line of tees is the brainchild of Cassandra Castellanos. Hand embroidery, hand stiching, beading, sew & serge are some of the techniques used to design her collection. According to the St. Louis native and designer behind the brand,”She’Va celebrates the essence of the WOMAN, the status of the DIVA, and the LEGACY of the EVERYDAY SHEROES”. The creativeness and just the overtop fashion themes have me at hello. The price point for the line is yet to be revealed. The launch party is going down this Saturday at The Artbar, located at 3221 Olive (next door to Dante’s). Admission is $10 and will feature a preview of the line, appetizers, and door prizes as well. Nothing beats a cute dress for day, evening, and casual wear in the Summer. They are so easy and a nobrainer that I look for them everywhere. The ones above are from J.Crew. I like J. Crew both in-store and online. They have the cutest pieces for the entire family. Have you got your Summer wardrobe together? It’s so time! For more information and more dresses, visit www.jcrew.com. Anywho, have a great rest of the week and happy shopping!!

Gucci Icon Bit Platform Clogs $560
Marc by Marc Jacobs Double Angle Strap Clogs $295
Prada Studded Plex Clogs $850
Marc by Marc Jacobs Platform Clogs $255
Happy Monday guys! Hope all is well on your end. I’m moving in the right direction on so many levels (and you know that makes me a happy camper). I think we’ve got a little bit of a reality check weather wise in The Lou. We are now at a more normal temperature which is great. Hope you guys aren’t suffering from allergy season too much. My oldest, is really feeling it. And rolling around in grass is not good for allergy sufferers.
Anywho, clogs are really making a comeback this spring. They can be found at every price point. The one’s above are from www.saks.com. They are cute (if I say so myself). They also also offer a bit of comfort and support. I remember trying to wear Dr. Scholl’s clogs as a kid. I wonder if they are still around? If you are sporting clogs, let me know. I’m definitely on the look for some. Have a great week and happy shopping!!!

Juicy Couture Tracksuit $500-$600
Happy Monday all! Like many of you, I’m on the 2nd week of holiday break with the kiddies. I must say, that I lived through the first week perfectly well. This week, we will get out and do some cultural stuff as long as the weather holds up. I’m all for working around the house though. I’ve seen a couple of things that I want to purchase as I’m still in (home) decorating mode. Oh, did I mention we got our first real snow in St. Louis yesterday? It got me to thinking about stuff that I like to wear and do when it’s cold outside. Did you know that cashmere is 8 times warmer than sheep’s wool and it’s much lighter? When choosing cashmere, as I understand it, the higher the quality, the better the fit, longevity, and comfort of the garment. And it’s better to choose cashmere manufactured in Europe (Scotland or Italy are the best). You can find cheaper and lower quality cashmere for sure at anywhere from Costco to J.Crew. These are just a few pieces that I found and liked. Cashmere is warm, soft, and comfy. Let me know what you think! Enjoy the week and Happy shopping!!!
Weekend Fun

TGIF! Are you done with all of your holiday shopping? I haven’t started yet and why am I still cool? What I would hate, is not to find what my little guys want. They want a popular gaming system. I would say, but my 7 year old is reading quite well, and you know the oldest one, he can read almost as good as I can. It’s quite nerve wrecking in these economic times. I’d rather not spend at the moment. I’ve just let it be known that gifts are scaled back this year. So, I’m going to do what I can and not stress it. So, what’s going on in your world this weekend? I have to sneak out to do a little shopping actually. I do feel a big happy hour coming on ;-). I love saying that, because I know I’m going to have a good time. Murphy Lee, Mr. UCME, dropped his new cd, UCME Wednesday, and his birthday party is tonight at Karma. I like Murphy Lee’s swag & his music, he comes across as uber cool, and i’m going to cop UCME. If you’re in the Lou and you’re looking for something to do, well, here you go:
St. Louis:
- Stress Free Friday @ Esclade (formerly Hadley’s) ~ Friday
- Murphy Lee’s Birthday @ Karma~Friday
- Soul Band Con Funk Shun @ The Ambassador~Friday
- An Evening with Ray J @ Home~Friday
- Customer Appreciation @ Exo~Friday
- So Sexy Saturdays @ Exo, I AM Clothing fashion presentation & comp Gentleman Jack’s cocktails~Saturday

Vests
Happy Monday all! Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was cool. The weather in St. Louis has been unbelievably awesome. I mean 80 degrees in November is just wonderful. I think today is the last day for above average weather in the Midwest. If you’re anything like me, when the wind is crisp but still very bareable, a vest is all that I need. It gives you just the amount of warmth you need with a dash of style to boot. I love ski vests for everyday and something with a little fur or the cable knit variety with a scarf to dress it up a bit. Vests aren’t too bad on the pocket. You can find them anywhere from $20 on up. Of course the more luxurious one’s can get up there but, they never go out of style. Let’s make it a great week everyone! Happy Shopping!!
Stella McCartney For Gap Kids

Now your little bambino too can look like a rockstar. Paul’s little girl is taking over the world as a world class fashion designer. She is a force to be reckoned with in Women’s Fashions and now in children’s fashions. I love Gap clothes for children. They are the cutest. I remember when my children were small GAP was my favorite place to shop. Their offerings are just the cutest. The collection is for boys and girls ages 0-6 on up 12. And you can expect everything that we’ve come to expect from Stella: unique mixes of unexpected pieces, soft color palettes, and a rockstar sensibility. I just love Stella’s designs. She knows what works and her designs are simply cool without looking like you tried too hard (my favorite look always). Check out the lookbook here: http://tinyurl.com/yleaxt9. The price point on the collection is $24 and up. For more information check www.gap.com and www.stellamccartney.com. Happy Shopping!!!
YSL @ Metropolitan Pavilion

Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was great (almost in the Tony Tiger way). I did just about everything I wanted to do and little of what I was supposed to do. So, being that it’s Monday, I guess I will make up for everything today. This week it’s all about Halloween costumes and parties and what not. I also have to pick up costumes for the troops. A group of friends of mine are having ”an alter ego party”. I’m excited and happy for them because they know how to partay. I’ve been given permission to share the whereabouts with my friends and I will post something on it in the next day or so. YSL is having a cute little friends & family sale (aka sample sale) in the next couple of days at Metropolitan Pavilion October 28-30. The Hours are 8-8pm, Wednesday & Thursday, and until 2pm on Friday. Let me know if you find something good! Have a great week and happy shopping!!!
