Hype Means Nothing

A new Parisian t-shirt company, Hype Means Nothing, was started around the premise that (you guessed it) hype means nothing. Each t-shirt design features a celebrity both real and in the form of cartoon characters using their hands to create the illusion that they are wearing sunglasses. I kinda like the concept. I think t-shirts have a place in everybody’s wardrobe. The price point on these babies are $75 USD and $55 Euros. You can check out Hype Means Nothing at www.hypemeansnothing.com. Happy Shopping!

Bravo! Bravo! I’m in total like with the John Galliano S|S 2010. Mr. Galliano does the 1920’s & 30’s and old Hollywood so well for both his signature John Galliano Line and for Christian Dior as well. I love his dramatic use of colors, lace, and the way he mixes periods & patterns, and makes it all look young, fun, soft, and sexy. I have lots more to post from the Paris shows. I hope you are enjoying. Hope your week is wrapping up nicely. Enjoy!!!

I’ve always known that Valentino is an awesome designer. I’ve admired his breathtaking bridal designs for the past 7 years as well. He is one of if not the top couture designer in the world. And he’s been holding court since like 1949 (that’s like before my mom was born). His Paris S|S 2010 collection really caught my eye. I found it soft, sexy, dreamy, fun, youthful, well designed, creative, and just all around cool. Valentino is best known for dressing Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Gloria Guinness, and a quite a few other socialites including the Hollywood set etc. Have a great hump day!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope your weekend was lovely. I’m checking out looks from the Paris shows. I’ve noticed a number of trends, including an 80’s influence. There is a bit of color in the collections (not as much as the American collections) but enough. I’ve noticed lots of nude colors, sheer fabrics, lots of draping, and still very little diversity in the models. One designer, who will remain nameless, had the nerve to send every model down the runway in turbans and not one model was of color. Anywho, these are some of the looks I liked. Have a great week and happy shopping for those that are throwing it in the bag ;-).
